Objectives: |
- The purpose of this course is to familiarize the participants with the basic techniques of signal conditioning in process control.
|
Contents: |
- 1. Principles of analog signal conditioning: signal level and bias changes, linearization, conversions, filtering and impedance matching, concept of loading.
- 2. Passive circuits: divider circuit, bridge circuits, RC filters(low-pass, high-pass, and band pass RC filters)
- 3. Operational amplifiers: transfer function, ideal inverting amplifier, non-ideal effects, Op Amp specifications, practical issues.
- 4. Op Amp circuits in instrumentations: voltage follower, inverting Amp, non-inverting Amp, differential instrumentation Amp, voltage-to-current converter, current-to-voltage converter, integrator, differentiator, linearization.
- 5. Design guidelines.
- 6. Case studies to be selected according to the main interest of the participants.
