Contents:

  • 1. Definition of discrete-state process control
  • 2. Characteristics of the system: discrete-state variables, process specifications, event sequence description.
  • 3. Relay controllers and ladder diagrams: background, ladder diagram elements.
  • 4. Programmable logic controllers (PLCs): PLC design, PLC operation, programming, PLC software functions.
  • 5. Case studies and application examples.
