Welding Metallurgy and Filler Metal Selection |
 |
| |
Objectives: |
- This Course introduces participants to the metallurgy of welding for various types of industrial alloys. It helps in understanding the micro-structural changes, hence properties changes, during welding. It gives also the principals of preheat and PWHT calculation requirements and electrode selection criteria.
-
|
Contents: |
- 1. Metallurgy of carbon and low alloy steels
- 2. Microstructure changes during welding of carbon and low alloy steel
- 3. Pr-weld heat treatment calculations: effect of: carbon equivalent (Alloying elements), heat input, thickness
- 4. PWHT or stress relief heat treatment
- 5. Welding of various types of stainless steels
- 6. Welding of non ferrous alloys
- 7. Principal of filler metals selection of various welding techniques
- 8. Case studies.
|
Who Should Attend: |
- The course is interesting to all the staff involved in design, operation, maintenance, inspection, reliability and safety of various welded industrial systems including:
- • Boilers, pressure vessels and piping systems
- • Steel Structures.
- • Petroleum, petrochemical and chemical industry systems.
